Christmas Nails-- pt 2 Santa Claus!

*Cell phone picture, don't judge*

I did these up quick while I was studying. Real simple, but I thought I'd share. Maybe next I'll do 1 Santa nail and then the 9 reindeer!

Speaking of reindeer, have you heard Jack Johnson's version of Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer? I.love.it.

 Merry Christmas!

Christmas Nails-- pt. 1

There's a good chance Christmas nails are my favorite. I just love the sparkles and snow flakes and... really I just love Christmas in general, but I'm sure I'll be doing lots of different designs this winter with the season in mind. Here are a few I've already done so far--

These snow flakes are my favorite nails I've ever done. I did them for a trip to temple square, and then again when I went to a ball a about a month later. The red matched my dress perfectly!

Who doesn't love a good candy cane?

When I was little I used to suck on the long end of my candy cane till it got REALLY sharp and then pretend it was a dagger... and when I say "when I was little" I really mean like...tonight...

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Holly Golightly- "You know those days when you get the mean reds?"
Paul Varjak- "The mean reds, you mean like the blues?"
Holly Golightly- "No. The blues are because you're getting fat and maybe it's been raining too long, you're just sad that's all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you're afraid and you don't know what you're afraid of. Do you ever get that feeling?"
Paul Varjak- "Sure."
Holly Golightly- "Well, when I get it the only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany's. Calms me down right away. The quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there."

What girl wouldn't mind having one of these show up under the Christmas tree? I'm not much of a jewelry person, but that little blue box is pretty and so are these look alike nails.

I Love Me Some Chucks

I love converse. I dream of one day having a rainbow of them. But for now, I'll settle for having a handful of them. These took me a little bit longer than most of my other nail designs but I think they were well worth it, don't you?

Halloween Special: Pt 3

This is the last of the Halloween Specials and definitely my favorite. These mummy nails were an idea, once again, off of pinterest that I decided to try out and I think they turned out great! This is also another one that I re-did for $1 a nail and it turned out just as good as this one!

Halloween Special: Pt 1

I love Halloween. It's so full of surprise, amazing decorations and scary movies. Not to mention, its a night where you can be a character, someone different. Also, you can think of sweet nail designs just like this :) check out the Black Widow on the pointer finger! I did these for one of my roommates and a few days later did them for a girl in one of her classes for $1 a nail. Easy peasy and so much fun.

Fish Scale Confetti

How fun are these? I love how happy they are. They remind me of both fish scales and confetti and given my not so secret desire to be a mermaid, I think these nails are pretty much perfect for me. Can you imagine these with a sequined party dress?? Awesome!

Detail

I love these nails. I had so much fun doing these, this pattern is kind of my "signature" doodle so these nails felt very me. I also figured out that with these nails I can do really intricate stuff if the base color has time to set.

"Let's Go Fly a Kite!"

These nails were actually inspired by my little brother. He's all sorts of crazy and we were talking one day when I was home for the weekend about activities he liked to do outside of school. He mentioned video games and, being the wonderful sister that wants him to actually be able to get dates once he comes of age, I quickly suggested things he could do that didn't involve technology. He rolled his eyes about how that wasn't fun and so I mentioned how when I was little I LOVED flying kites. Even when there was no wind. I would run around our cul-de-sac like a maniac just to watch the kite fly for a few seconds before it tumbled to the ground.

... My little brother looked at my like I was a lunatic. So I took him outside with one of the kites I found in our garage and showed him. Needless to say it provided only about 20 min of fun before we both got bored hours of entertainment! but then it started to rain. Thus, the idea for these nails was born.

Who Knew Bugs Could Be So Cute?

These are some of my favorites of all the nails I've ever done. They feel so whimsical and happy. The idea came from pinterest, one of the best websites around. I get a lot of my nail ideas from there actually! It's a great source of inspiration for lots of things. I suggest you get an account if you don't have one already.

Well, my roommate saw my nails and loved them so much she wanted them too! So, because she really likes butterflies, I did butterflies instead.

Game Day

I did these the day of a big BSU game party that I was invited to. I don't have any loyal attachment to them, but it's fun to see them win. To be honest, I really just wanted to see if I could paint the horse...

Turns out I could! On both thumbs even. I do feel like I need to even it out with a BYU set of nails one of these days. Try out the cougar? I could probably do it...

... or maybe I could just do the Y...
The Y would be significantly easier.

Watermelon!

I mean really, who doesn't like a good watermelon now and again? They're juicy, delicious and honestly take more calories of energy to eat than you get from them and really, who doesn't want more food like that?

I just love these for summer. And I'm sure it'd be just as easy to do strawberries or really any kind of fruit.

Knuckle

Ignore my fatty middle finger's knuckle. That knuckle will be with me for ever. Wanna know why? No? Well I'll tell you anyways.

I was a senior in high school and I used to be in a sports medicine class. My favorite sport to... med was Football because I was good friends with all the guys on the team. (Unfortunately lacrosse is not a sanctioned sport in Idaho or else that would have been my favorite, hands down.) Well, it was half time and I was passing the ball back and forth with my friend Kaiti. Oh, and I had had my wisdom teeth removed... the day before, so I was pretty heavily medicated. Why my mom let me sports med the next day is beyond me. Well, right before the game was about to start again she threw it to me one more time. I had just picked up a water bottle and so I tried to catch it one handed. I, come to find out, am not that talented. It broke my finger, I was sure of it but it didn't really hurt (probably do to the copious amount of drugs running through my veins) and so I, as usual, ignored it.

Come to find out, two months later after it continued to hurt, that I had torn the tendon off of at the joint and so my mobility in that finger would "never be the same." Apparently actually taking care of injuries has its benefits.
Tangent!

Anyways, I like these because they're simple and easy but still cute :)

Cross Hatching

These were another from my first semester. A lot of these I just thought of an idea and decided to try it out and, I assure you, I went through quiet a few bottles of nail polish remover. But I like the way this one turned out. They make me think of a picnic for some reason.

60's Mod

Also my first semester! My nails ended up matching my bed spread. I love how geometric and retro it looks! Reminds me of the Mod dresses from the 60's.

Like this!

Nail Painting Parties

My first semester my roommates and I would all get together and paint each other's nails. This is a perfect example.

These were some of the first nails I ever did with any sort of design on them. They were for my roommates my very first semester of college. We had nail painting parties probably once a week and one of my roommates, Shelby, was really talented. She was a great source of ideas for me and was actually a big influence in my desire to paint nails.

They remind me of that Fruit Stripe zebra gum :)
